The only thing we charge for is an optional custom domain, and we pass the registrar's cost through with a flat $12/year service fee from us for handling setup, security, and renewals.

Using AI to build your site
Yes. Ask any AI for a complete HTML page, copy the result, and drop it into WhatIMade. Or paste the HTML directly into the upload box. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot — any AI that exists today or will exist tomorrow works with WhatIMade.
Ask for "a single, complete HTML file" that includes all styles and content inline. Tell it what the site is about — your bakery, portfolio, event, project — and the AI will write the HTML. Copy the whole thing and paste it into WhatIMade. Done.
Use that one too. WhatIMade isn't locked to any AI provider. It takes HTML — the most universal format on the web. Any tool that can produce HTML works with WhatIMade, now and forever.
Pricing and domains
We charge a flat $12 per year when you buy a custom domain through us, on top of what the domain itself costs. That is our only revenue line. Free hosting stays free, forever.
Not at all. You can use a free whatimade.app address (like yourbusiness.whatimade.app) for as long as you want. There is no lock-in and no obligation to upgrade.
Yes. If you already own a domain, you can point it to your WhatIMade site. We handle the security certificate and all the technical setup. See the docs for details.

Your data and ownership
Your site is served from Cloudflare's global edge network for speed. Every time you publish, a copy of your files is also saved to a folder in your own Google Drive that you control.
Every publish copies your files into your own Google Drive, in a folder you control. If we disappeared tomorrow, those files are still yours. Custom domains bought through us are registered in your name, not ours, so they stay with you too. We built it this way on purpose.
Your files are already in your Google Drive. Download them anytime and host them anywhere else — they're standard HTML. There is no export process because there is nothing to export from. The files were always yours.
No. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't track you across the web. Read the privacy policy — it's short and written in plain English.
