Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026
These terms govern your use of WhatIMade.app ("the Service"), operated by WhatIMade ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. What the Service Does
WhatIMade.app is a free website hosting service. You upload the files that make up a website; we put them on the internet at a free address like yoursite.whatimade.app. If you sign in, you get a dashboard to manage your sites, set passwords, and attach a domain name of your own.
2. Your Account
You can use the Service without an account (anonymous uploads). If you sign in with Google, you get a dashboard to manage your sites. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account.
3. Your Content
You retain full ownership of everything you upload. We do not claim any rights over your files. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store and serve those files as part of the hosting service.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and publish the content you host on the Service.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to host:
- Malware, phishing pages, or deceptive content
- Content that violates applicable laws
- Spam or content designed to abuse search engines
- Content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights
- Content that promotes violence or discrimination
- Cryptocurrency mining scripts or similar resource-intensive code
You also agree not to:
- Collect, index, mirror, or otherwise copy content hosted on the Service at scale by any automated means, whether run by software or by a person, except where (a) you are the owner of the content being collected, or (b) you operate a standard public search engine indexing pages that are not marked
noindex. - Offer, distribute, or operate a service that acts on WhatIMade endpoints (our public API, our dashboard, or site-level access keys) on behalf of other users without a prior written agreement with us. This includes migration tools that promise to move another user's WhatIMade site to a different provider, and tools that manage multiple users' WhatIMade sites from a shared interface.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise make available to a third party, whether for payment or as part of any commercial product, another user's access to their files, deployments, or account data on the Service. This applies whether such access is obtained through a site access key, a session cookie, a browser extension, or any other means.
- Use any AI or generation feature we provide (including but not limited to the in-dashboard AI editor, the generate-site endpoint, and any future model-backed endpoints) for any purpose other than editing and publishing your own sites. Specifically, you may not route third-party traffic through these endpoints, use them as a general-purpose model proxy, harvest model outputs to train or fine-tune another system, or script them at a cadence inconsistent with a human user editing a website.
These automation restrictions do not prevent you from authorising a single-purpose tool you personally control (for example, your own AI editor, your own deploy script, or an automation that runs only on sites you own) from acting on your own sites using your own access keys.
We run automated pattern detection on the AI endpoints described above. A request cadence that matches a script rather than a human composing prompts may trigger a brief pause on the affected account. If you believe a pause was in error, contact support@whatimade.app and we will review.
We reserve the right to remove content, revoke access keys, or suspend accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.
5. Free Hosting
Hosting at any address ending in .whatimade.app is free. We do not charge a monthly fee or a subscription. To keep the service fast for everyone, we may set reasonable caps on how much storage you use, how much traffic your sites can handle, or how many files you can upload.
6. Your Own Domain Name
You can buy a domain name (such as yourname.com) from us as a paid extra. The payment goes through Stripe; the domain itself is registered in your name with Cloudflare. Prices, renewal dates, and the international rules that govern all domain names apply as shown at the moment you buy. Once a domain has been registered, it cannot be refunded.
7. Access Keys
You can create access keys that let an outside tool (for example, an AI assistant) read and change the files on one of your sites on your behalf. Keeping those keys safe is your responsibility; if one gets out, it is up to you to delete it from your dashboard. We are not liable for anything that happens because a key of yours was shared or leaked.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the Service running around the clock, but we do not promise 100% uptime. The Service runs on Cloudflare's network, and its availability depends in part on Cloudflare. We are not liable for periods of downtime, lost data, or interruptions to the Service.
9. Data and Backups
We do not guarantee that your hosted files will be preserved indefinitely. While we make reasonable efforts to maintain data integrity, you should keep local copies of anything important. We are not responsible for data loss.
10. Termination
You can delete your sites at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we decide to shut down the Service entirely, we will provide at least 60 days notice so you can download your files.
11. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via the dashboard.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
