How to cancel Wix
Cancel your Wix premium plan to stop the recurring charge. Below: the gotcha to know first (email is the universal one), what to back up before pulling the plug, and the exact six clicks to get it done.

If you have email like you@yourdomain.com through this provider, cancelling will switch it off. Set up replacement email first — Google Workspace ($6/user/mo), Fastmail ($3/user/mo), or Zoho Mail (free for one user) all work with your domain.
If you bought your domain through Wix less than 60 days ago, ICANN rules prevent you from transferring it away. You can still point it at WhatIMade with DNS records (already done if you finished the previous step), then transfer the registration later.
Before you cancel
-
Download a backup of your old site
Just in case. You'll never need it, but you'll wish you had it if you ever do.
-
Export any contact-form submissions you want to keep
Old submissions live on the provider; once you cancel they are gone.
-
Export your orders, customers and products
If you sold anything, download a CSV of your order and customer history. Most platforms have a single Export button under Commerce settings.
-
Check where your domain is registered
Your domain (the name like yourbakery.com) may be registered with this provider or with a separate registrar. If it's here, decide whether to transfer it out to a cheaper registrar (Porkbun, Cloudflare Registrar) or leave it where it is — both options work with your new site.
Cancellation walkthrough
-
Sign in at wix.com
Use the email you set the site up with.
-
Open the subscriptions area
Top-right profile menu → "Subscriptions". Or go directly to wix.com/my-account/subscriptions.
-
Find your site's premium plan
Look for the row labelled with your site name. The plan type (Combo, Unlimited, Business, etc.) is shown next to it.
-
Click the three-dot menu → Cancel Plan
Wix puts the cancel option behind a menu rather than a button. Click the "..." on the right of the plan row, then "Cancel Plan".
-
Pick a reason (or skip)
They'll ask why. You can pick anything or skip; the cancellation goes through either way.
-
Confirm
The site stays online until the current billing period ends, then becomes a free site (visible on a wixsite.com URL but no longer premium). Your domain pointing is unaffected — visitors keep reaching WhatIMade.
About refunds: Wix gives a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase of a plan. After that, annual plans are not refunded for unused months; monthly billing stops at the end of the current cycle.
About your domain
Wix domains can be transferred out after the 60-day ICANN lock expires. From the same Subscriptions page, find the domain row → click "..." → Transfer Domain. You'll get an auth code by email.
